After three days of being online, floating shooter hasn’t done aswell as I thought it would have.
This isn’t as much as I had hoped for, by a long shot. But, still, this is ok. The game recieved reviews from players which help me in what I need to implement in the next game that I make. My name is out there and people are looking out for my next game.
As well as mochiads I have earned $0.20 from Kongregate’s ad sharing program. Not much for sure, but better than nothing.
Yesterday I made a new game. The game took less than a day to complete and is called Floating Shooter.
I wanted to see how well I could monetize a Flash game that I had made in less than a day.
I submitted it to Newgrounds, Kongregate and Addicting Games to mixed reviews. Most said the game needed work, which is fair enough considering the time spent making it, but there were no negative reviews.
At the time of writing this, around 10 hours after I submitted the game, the game has had 443 ad impressions and has made $0.27 with mochiads.
Getting all these reviews was really helpful to me and I’ll make some drastic changes to the game based on them.
The plan for gamersgarden is to make it a user-driven Flash games website. Users will have the chance to submit and vote on games, therefore increasing the size of our Flash-game library. Competitions will be run, forums opened and games played.
The site will be written by Trevor and I, mostly in PHP. The site will hopefully be completed by February 08 :).
The first game Gamersgarden will be producing will be a game called fire fire fire fire. The game involves putting out fires, strangely enough. Click and hold the mouse to release water which will put out the fires.
Some features the game will include:
Ability to buy fireman at the end of each level
Firemen walk around by themselves putting out fires
Upgradeable water tank/power of water
50 levels of increasing difficulty
The game is still in beta mode so there’s still a lot of work to do.
