Edit(9/Sept): Fixed a few glitches including massive lag from explosions.
Edit(7/Sept): Added sound, explosive barrels and shaking/blurring from these barrels. WARNING: Very CPU intensive when blowing up barrels. Toggle this effect on and off with ‘O’. Will try to optimize it soon.

I’ve been working on the platformer quite a bit lately, and have added a few things.
Firstly, I’ve added some graphics; but they’re not final and are only there to test the fps.
Secondly, I’ve added shooting: Click to shoot.
Thirdly and finally, I’ve added weapons. 1, 2 and 3 changes weapons. 1 is pistol, 2 and 3 are automatic weapons with different stats.

Just a relatively small update, but quite cool - I’ve added raycasting to the platformer, this will be used for my enemy line of site and also for shooting.
The raycasting is from some code on the Box2D forums found here. Very useful stuff.

I’m a big fan of tanks. Previously, I wrote about a tank clone written in ActionScript 2.0. This tutorial will show you how to make tanks using OOP in ActionScript 3.0. Therefore, I am assuming that everyone is using Adobe® Flash® CS3. This is what we will be making today:

Here’s something I’ve been working on lately - It’s ultimately going to be a platformer/shooting game. For now, I have been working on the weapons. Just thought I’d share the start of a new Flash game that I’m working on. It’s called UFO at the moment - pretty silly, I know, but it’s a work in progress. Actually, I’m thinking of calling it Terrestrial Carnage.
The game will be a defense game - you work your way through levels, destroying enemies and seeing how long you can last. You will also be able to beam up important enemies, but more to come on that at a later date.
